On April 27, 2026, our Heavenly Father embraced Kathleen Kirkpatrick and welcomed her into His everlasting Kingdom.
“Cathy” was born on March 31, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. She spent her early years living on the perimeter of Echo Park in an area known as Temple Beaudry.
She attended local schools, including Cortez Elementary, Virgil Junior High School, and Belmont High School. In the ’70s, Cathy bought her home in Pico Rivera, CA, with her mom, Ruthie, which became her forever residence. She loved her house, her neighborhood, and her church, and she formed numerous personal connections there that remain today.
Upon graduation, Cathy entered banking, working as a bank teller at Citi National Bank in downtown Los Angeles. Soon, she transitioned into the field of law, which would become her professional passion for most of her career. As a paralegal, Cathy worked for several local and national law firms, becoming an expert in personal injury, workers’ compensation, and related specialties. Cathy always worked diligently for clients in order to maximize the financial benefits and justice due to them. In her later years of employment, she transitioned into public service, working many years in the Probation Department for the County of Riverside, from which she retired.
Cathy enjoyed life. She made many friends, including business colleagues, co-workers, neighbors, classmates, and people she met along her life path. She also developed an array of extended family members through the care and attention she gave to the children of her family and friends. As a godmother, or “Nina Cathy,” to many, she always held a special place in their hearts.
Cathy loved social gatherings and celebrations, and she brought joy to these events. Her infectious laughter and social demeanor left lasting memories for so many people. Cathy did not deprive herself of experiencing life. She often celebrated her birthdays, which were memorable events that people still recall and share today. She enjoyed dancing, mariachi music, and different foods, but especially the company of the people she cared for and esteemed. She was always eager to join in the celebrations of others, too.
Cathy will always be remembered by those she truly loved and those who loved and cared for her in return
Cathy is survived by numerous friends and family.
