Raul Barrera was born in El Salvador on April 1, 1940, to Alejandro Barrera and Juana Osorio. He emigrated to the United States in 1975 and became a U.S. citizen in 2007. He retired after a long career as a mechanic. He is survived by his ex-wife, two sons, two grandchildren, and one brother.

His first love was God, and his family second, especially his two grandchildren, Elias Jr., and Brittany. He was very involved in his church and in his younger years was part of the jail ministry, where he would go to jails and penitentiaries to give the word.

His last day on this earth was November 28, 2025. He will be missed by those who know him. He is now with the lord.
